1st check-up

Parker is now 16 days old and we've been to the doctor 3 times... #firsttimeparents #LOL

One visit was his "newborn" check, another was his 2 week check and the 3rd visit was to check his umbilical cord stump because it fell off a little early and was looking a little funny (it's 100% fine).

Stats from his newborn visit:
19.75" long (43%), 7 lbs 13 oz (54%) and 14.25" head (86%)

Stats from his 2 week visit:
21" long (71%), 8 lbs 11 oz (53%) and 14.75" head (91%)

**we were way too occupied with Parker to bother taking pictures of him at the doctor's office- maybe for his 4 week check-up I'll get some!

Basically he's average for height and weight with a big old head! I guess that explains the difficult delivery :)

He's already above his birth weight, which we are thrilled about. We've been having some breastfeeding issues and needing to supplement with formula (mostly at night). It's not what I had planned, but I keep telling myself that however he gets fed and as long as he's growing, it's what's best for him. It's hard, but I'm not allowing myself to feel the "mommy guilt" about it. Hopefully we can move away from the formula...but if not, that's ok. In the meantime, I'm taking supplements to increase my milk supply and I just made a batch of yummy lactation cookies. They might work, they might not. But they are yummy!
