One month old!

Sweet baby Parker is now one month old! This first month has both seemed so long (especially on the days where he cries ALL day long!) and both super fast. I constantly look at him and think "how did I make this? How am I so lucky?" I'm loving being his mama and enjoying our time at home together. One month old makes me sad because it means I just have one more month at home with him until I go back to work. Definitely dreading that day!

Parker had his first road trip to Monteagle/Clifftops and did great! He slept most of the way in the car and overall did great in a new environment. He even made his first visit to Shenanigans and celebrated the 4th of July by sleeping :)

He had a 1 month check-up with Dr. Mallard. We learned that his fussiness has really been hunger (cue the guilt for mom!), so we are adding more formula to his "diet". 2 days after this change he is a much happier baby. Breastfeeding has been very difficult and probably won't last much longer, but we lasted 4 weeks and he's already gotten a lot of the benefits from it. Instead of being disappointed that it's not working, I'm choosing to focus on my growing baby boy and the things that he's doing.

At one month:
-sleeps one 5-6 hour stretch at night and then goes back to sleep for 3-4 more hours
-breastfeeding first and then taking 3-4 oz. of formula after
-loves looking around and prefers to sit up
-smiles at Mommy and Daddy
-rolling over from belly to back!
-enjoys playing on his play mat
-9lbs 5 oz (35%), 21.75" (63%)

His growth dropped off from his 2 week visit due to the feeding issues. Hopefully with more formula he'll have some better weight gain at his 2 month check up!
